I. What kind of teacher is a qualified teacher?

What is a quaMed teacher? This is a fuzzy and even dis-torted concept. It is almost a consensus that a teacher who pass the teachers´ qualification examinations so as to possess the pro-fessional card, who treats students´ study strictly, whose students are disciplined and abide classroom rules consciously,and whose students get good scores m examinations is a qualifiedteacher. Also some believe the one who is good at arousing students´ emotions in the open class and who can make a class-room popular is very likely to be a quaMed teacher. And others think that a qualified teacher must achieve many prizes in teach-ing. Visibly, "what is a qualified teacher" is ordinarily defined by the influence of our country´ s exam - oriented education sys-tem and the teachers´ education system.

What do the students think? Through the questionnaires, it is summarized as follows: first, a quaMed teacher should be a dedicated teacher who considers work as the core of life, and put students´ academic performances and students´ life difficulties in the first place. Second, a qualified teacher must desire to learn much more knowledge. Here, " general knowledge" not on- ly refers to the thickness of professional knowledge and a good a- bility of using professional knowledge, but also focus on the out-side parts of the disciplined knowledge, such as writing ability (i. e. , literary talent) , language expression competence, the o- riginal understanding of social sciences, and the insight about the development of philosophy thoughts schools. Third, a qualified teacher should be approachable and the dignity is emphasized, which helps teachers set up tall images and closes the distance between teachers and students. Fourth, a qualifled teacher must dress appropriately, especially in modem society.

In the academic world, it is generally believed that a quali- fied teacher must he the passion for the education career and the fully understanding of the significance of teachers´ work. Of course, different people he put forward different requirements:

A qualified teacher should he the four basic qualities:bearing a hey responsibility, strengthening basic teachingskills, cultivating a wide range of interests and hobbies and read-ing much more books to increase knowledge,

The definition of a good teacher is a historical category, and different periods will he different standards. In higher stand-ard, a good university teacher should climber both acadenuc peak and virtual peak. A good teacher is the one who treats the profession with profound respect and humility unremittingly, and has not only extensive knowledge but also excellent expression a-bility, and plays comparative advantages in long - term training of fostering strengths and circumventing weaknesses to form self - contained style.

What is a qualified teacher7 I think a qualified teacher should he three elements: strategist´ s minds, doer´ s spirits and artist´ s skills.

The annual national teachers in the United States ( good teachers´ models of the year in Americans´ hearts) give full play to the potential of each student. First, A quaMed teacher ought to treat children as children. He needs to stand in the students´ positions, understand students´ psychologies, and help them develop personalized learning goals. Second, a good teacher ought to believe students. He needs to establish a posi-tive expectations for students and help them exploit broader de-velopmental space. Third, a good teacher ought to teach from the perspective of students. He needs to support a bridge between teaching and students´ life and stimulate students´ learning in-terest and enthusia.

It is important to strengthen the moral education work in or-der to cultivate qualified ceachers. First, strengthen the collectiv-i, patrioti and sociali education. Second, carry out the professional ideological education of learning from teac,hers and loving teachers. Finally, promote teachers ´ ethics educa-tiori.

A good teacher can create a harmonious and poetry class-room.

II. What kind of qualities do you think a good teacher should he?

A good teacher is the one who has many necessary qualitiesto contribute for the education career. He or she must know that to be a good teacher is to set a benchmark for the work, common- ly used to measure himself or herself. Whether he or she is better in this period than last period is the key to evaluate the teaching and other work, rather than to show himself or herself better than others. I always believe that the success of education doesn´ t lieonly in whether a teacher lights a lamp for students´ mind or not, and the beauty of education isn´ t related only to how manyeducation thoughts he been written either. However a teacher´ s fascinating teaching style, outstanding academic knowledge andunique teaching skill are the good examples in teaching. A goodteacher is the one who know how to prepare and show the teach-ing and the one who understand how his teaching affect students´study. Through careful study and serious trunking of teachers´ teaching, I think a good teacher has the following necessary char- acteristics :

First of all, A good teacher should be a happy person, who has own happiness, also can convey happiness to family, friends and students. Secondly, a good teacher is a kind and rich person with a warm heart, who doesn´ t need to he a handsome or beautiful face, but should he a soft heart, which make himself or herself graceful and noble and make the classroom a communi-cating paradise between teachers and students. And then a good teacher is a fair person who never look up or look down at anyone and always touches every student with warm eyes. Next, a good teacher is an honest person, who would rather choose to keep si-lence than tell a lie. Finally, a good teacher takes classroom as the life, who loves the truth, desires for freedom, insists on the value of his own minds and consciences and doesn´t give in to any power and violence. And at the same time, a teacher´s hu-mor is very important. I think a good teacher should add much more relaxing atmosphere to cultivate students´ spirit of rebellion and let them say no in classroom. Because we are used to em-phasizing the discipline, uniformity and conformity, which killsstudents´ personality and creativity.

III. What can you do to improve yourself towards the aim of being a good teacher?

To be a good teacher is my firm goal in the future. Clearly,I know the teacher is a profession with its certain characteristics and special difficulties. So it is a never - ending pursuit to be a good teacher. What can I do to improve myself towards the aim of being a good teacher?

First, I will support my teaching belief, that is a good teacher grows together with the students, which is closely linked to my value, my view of the world and the conceptions of my place within it. And I will adhere to the teache" ethics and maintain a right attitude to be a good example for students. Sec-ond, it is never too old to leam. I assert that teaching is leam-ing. So I will study more and read more in my work, especially in this fast developed high - tech society. Third, effective teach-ing and learning is pursued by all teachers and students. Teach-ers´ actions reflect what they claim to believe would appear to be a vitally important aspect of effective teaching.[7]63 So my actions and interactions with students will form students´ constructions of knowledge. And I need to care more about both context of learn-ing and the nature of the social and communicative interactions that take place within the context. Of course, as a reflective practitioner, I will subject my everyday professional practice to ongoing critical reflection and make my own particular world view clear by means of such consideration. Also as a mediator, I will interact and reciprocate with students to help them acquire the knowledge, skills and strategies they need in order to progress,and help them interact with materials in various ways until they become truly self - directed. Fourth, I will learn to become students´ friends and seep into their daily life to understand them well. Fifth, I will actively put up some system advice to make much more good teachers for our country: (1) Strengthen quality education evaluation system. (2) Improve the teacher education system. (3) Optimize teachers´ ethics evaluation and supervision system. (4) Raise teachers´ pay moderately.
